In den frühen 70er-Jahren bekommt Walter seinen ersten Reitunterricht im bekannten "Grazer Parforce Reitclub". Er ist damals neun Jahre alt. In den folgenden zehn Jahren wird ihm eine Dressurausbildung mit guten Pferden ermöglicht. Neben anderen lernt er viel von Alfred Knopfhart. Walter bekommt Zureite- und Trainingspferde in Arbeit. Für den Springsport ist er als Parcourschef tätig.

Anfangs der 80er-Jahre kommt Walter eher zufällig in Kontakt mit der traditionellen kalifornischen Reitweise und dem Westernreiten. Es entstehen erste Kontakte zu Jean-Claude Dysli und seiner Hacienda in Spanien. Zehn Jahre später beginnt Walter - mit eigenem Pferd und als Gast auf der "Hacienda Buena Suerte" - bei Jean-Claude systematisch Unterricht zu nehmen.

Schließlich verlässt Walter 1996 Österreich. Fünf Jahre lang teilt er seine Saison in Arbeit für Jean-Claude und die Hacienda, mehrere Monate im Westen der USA und eigene Projekte. So ist es Walter möglich, viel Zeit um und mit den Master-Horsemen Tom und Bill Dorrance sowie anderen Top-Hands zu verbringen.

Seither ist Walter vor allem in Mitteleuropa für Pferde und mit Menschen tätig.

In the early 70s Walter, as a nine years old boy, has his first riding lessons at the well-known "Grazer Parforce Reitclub" in Austria. Over ten years he gets educated as a dressage rider. He is allowed to ride some well-trained horses and has renowned teachers. Alfred Knopfhart is one of them. Walter starts and rides horses for other people. As a Chef-De-Parcours he is connected to show jumping.

Early in the 80s Walter fortuitously gets in touch with western riding and the traditional californian style. At that time he has first contact to Jean-Claude Dysli and his hacienda. A decade later Walter - with his own horse and as a guest at the "Hacienda Buena Suerte" - starts to learn methodically from Jean-Claude.

In 1996 Walter leaves Austria. Over five years he does seasonal work for Jean-Claude and the hacienda, spends some months in the West of the USA and does own projects. So he is allowed to spend some times around the master-horsemen Tom and Bill Dorrance and other top hands.

Ever since Walter offers his services for horses and people all over Europe.
